At First Star, young adults in foster care create vibrant and engaging futures.
Nationally, less than 50% of youth in foster care will graduate high school, and less than 10% will enroll in higher education.
At First Star, 100% graduate high school and 91% enroll in higher education.
The University of Utah First Star Academy is a four-year education program that improves educational outcomes for youth in foster care in Utah. First Star scholars create community, explore passions, build on talents and overcome systemic barriers to achieve educational success.
